This extensive background provides a solid foundation for their mission at ProtoFlex: to tackle modern challenges like data fragmentation and inefficient processes by creating innovative and integrated care environments.

Marc Warburton

Marc Warburton
Managing Director

Marc has worked in the healthcare sector since the mid 80's: starting in cancer research at the Marie Curie Research Wing, Mount Vernon Hospital, Northwood, he then spent time as the IT Manager at Harefield Hospital. Setting up CIMS Ltd in 1995, he launched InfoFlex - supporting clinicians in over 130 NHS Trusts. His career has involved leadership roles in both the NHS and private sectors and, pre-empting the NHS 10 year plan, has now co-founded ProtoFlex, focusing on the problems of data fragmentation, patient engagement and the standardisation of care protocols.

As CEO of CIMS ltd for 25 years, Marc was passionate about supporting clinicians in their patient care processes and now, as ProtoFlex Ltd’s MD, he is continuing to drive the development of innovative solutions that will help health and social care sectors, using the latest technologies to bring together patients, clinicians and carers into a truly integrated care environment.

Chris Williams
R&D Director

Chris brings extensive experience in software development and technical leadership. He has a proven track record of delivering effective systems across various sectors, including healthcare, insurance, and agriculture.

Before co-founding ProtoFlex, Chris spent over a decade as a Senior Developer and Technical Lead at Chameleon Information Management Services Ltd (CIMS), where he spearheaded the development of their web capabilities. After CIMS was acquired by Civica, he advanced to InfoFlex Development Manager within their Health & Care division, leading teams in both the UK and India and playing a key role in product strategy and architecture.

At ProtoFlex, Chris is leading the design and development of a new digital pathway platform. This platform leverages Azure, AI, and health and social care APIs to streamline essential processes and drive technological advancements. His technical expertise in technologies like .NET, SQL Server, and Azure, combined with his strategic vision, continues to shape innovative solutions aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery.

Product Director

Alex has built his career in healthcare technology, developing a deep understanding of how software can support clinicians and improve patient outcomes. His experience spans product ownership, solution design, and customer collaboration, with a strong focus on turning complex requirements into practical, user-friendly systems.

Prior to ProtoFlex, Alex spent 9 years with the InfoFlex team. He began in testing and quality assurance, then moved into customer-facing roles where he helped design solutions for IBD, cancer care, Single Queue Diagnostics (SQD), patient portals, and remote monitoring among others. Alex went on to become Product Owner for InfoFlex, guiding its development and working with customers to ensure it met evolving clinical needs.

At ProtoFlex, Alex is focussed on shaping a new generation of digital solutions that are practical, reliable, and designed around the real-world needs of healthcare providers and patients.

Dr John Nye

Dr John Nye
Operations Director

John is an established healthcare technology professional with over three decades of high-level experience in the digital healthcare sector. His career has involved significant leadership roles and he continues to make a positive difference in the application of digital technology to improve patient care.

After gaining his PhD, John moved away from High-Energy Physics and brought his scientific and technical research expertise to clinical software, joining Hospital Engineering Ltd, followed by Siemens Healthcare Services and then InfoFlex.

At InfoFlex, John served as R&D Director, where he played a lead role in product design and development. His expertise was particularly evident in creating innovative solutions that addressed one of healthcare's most persistent and continuing challenges: integrating data from disparate health systems.

Building on his extensive experience, John co-founded ProtoFlex, where he currently serves as Operations Director. In this role, his strategic vision continues to drive technological advancements aimed at improving patient outcomes and enhancing the efficiency of healthcare delivery systems.
